andrade-lusocom

Dr. Jose Gabriel Andrade was among the featured speakers at the 7th Lusocom conference in Cape Verde from 19-21- October 2016.

In his talk, Dr. Andrade noted that Portuguese language demand has been growing around the world since 2008, the  year of the global economic crisis in the leading industrialized countries. Since then, he noted, young people  in many countries have been exploring economic opportunities in Lusophone countries, and registering for Portuguese language courses. He also noted that Portuguese is the 4th language on Facebook and 3rd on Twitter.

Dr. Andrade’s presentation also explored the rising global reach of Lusophone culture in music, films, and television productions, which are extending through digital networks throughout the world.

Interesting Growing in Digital Culture initiatives for the Lusosphere
